I've spent more hours than I care to think about glaring at the last 500 words of a 99K word novel, rearranging and changing and revising and throwing away and rewriting again.
I fear I'm teetering on the brink of a sappy ending, too close to 'happily ever after' for the rest of the story.
I am tempted to trash the whole thing and make it a 98K word novel, instead. Maybe that's a question for the Rat. She's about as sentimental as I am. I'll probably think of the perfect ending after I send it to her.
